Séance 1

This was held in the front room and Eleanor Tina Ian and Phillip were the sitters. The session started at 2:50 and finished at 3:25. We decided to try an experiment with a glass chopping board and a home made inverted bell, the board was placed on a polished table so it could slide freely and the bell was placed in the centre of the plate. The spirits seemed either unable or unwilling to move the board as although at one point the board seemed to move it was only the table rocking. However contact was made with a man who appeared to have been an undertaker and it was felt he was blocking all the other spirit energies from coming through so Eleanor closed the session.

Séance 2

This was held in the back room it started at 03:40 the sitters were Eleanor, Jenny, Tina, Phill and Chris with Paul and Ian on camera and taking readings. After about 5 minutes Eleanor sensed something to do with smoking which was confirmed by Tina, they both felt scarred on there backs as if they had bean whipped. Phill had a tickling sensation on his right arm and was cold on the left side, his left sideburn was also itching, and this is thought to be caused by a spirit called Carrie who has visited Phill on numerous occasions since we met her at a previous investigation. A young lady who was wearing late 50’s or 60’s style clothes aged around 17 years, she died in 1970 and had here throat slit, the name Becky was associated with her. Everyone felt temperature changes and Tina felt as if she was pregnant with twins, Jenny found her self overcome and began shaking. She was in contact with a child who was trying to talk but could not, as this was causing her some distress Paul helped ground her and passed the energy to Phill to disperse the negative feeling went quite quickly, the séance was closed at 4:40.

Conclusion

This was an active location, with several spirits who are thought to visit on a regular basis, the night was also added to by the date being April 30^th which is Walpurgis Night and fact there is a cemetery nearby.

Walpurgis Night, April 30. This is an old pagan festival, which borrowed its name from Saint Walburga whose feast occurs on May Day. On this night witches are believed to ride on broomsticks and he-goats to places of old pagan worship, being the highest points in the mountains. It is also said that spirits walk the earth as on Halloween, Walpurgis Night is exactly six months after Halloween. Witches are said to be driven away on this night with cracking of whips and blasting of horns.
